Addo-Carr lands ‘awkwardly’ scoring terrific try

Melbourne star Josh Addo-Carr was left nursing a sore head after ‘awkwardly’ landing on his face while scoring a late try to seal his side’s win over the New Zealand Warriors.

Addo-Carr was forced to come off the field in what was the fourth H.I.A his team had endured in a physical 50-6 thumping of the Warriors.

The man nicknamed ‘The Foxx’ used his incredible speed to chase down a Cameron Smith kick at the 50-metre line and score the ninth Storm try of the night.

But immediately following the try Addo-Carr grabbed his face in pain, having been unable to properly brace himself after scoring and sliding along the turf.

“He’s hurt himself here. He has fallen awkwardly,” Dan Ginnane said on Fox Sports’ commentary.

“He makes some heavy contact,” commentator Corey Parker added.

Addo-Carr immediately needed attention from Storm trainers after the try, as he took several moments before he was able to stand and walk off the field with five minutes left in the game.

Thankfully Addo-Carr appeared in good spirits as he walked to the sidelines smiling, but shaking his head, after the heavy knock.

Following the win the speedy Storm star shared an image of his face to social media, joking about the faceplant in the game.

“Foxx looks to be ok,” Melbourne’s official account tweeted.
