‘I watch the ball and play, not the bowler who is bowling’ Babar on facing Archer

Karachi: Pakistan limited-overs captain Babar Azam is not worried about facing English pacer Jofra Archer in the upcoming Test series.

Pakistan batting coach Younis Khan termed Archer as a major threat for Pakistan batting as he has create a decent amount of impact with his bowling since the ICC World Cup 2019.

While talking to reporters via video-conference, the number five ranked Test batsman emphasized that he tries to play the ball on merit regardless of who the bowler is.

“We are prepared for the series. I am on my plan and I know which kind of bowling will be up against me. I watch the bowl and doesn’t play by the name of the bowler,” Babar said.

Babar has aimed to convert hundreds into big score and has eyes on doing it on the tour of England. “When you cross a century mark, you want to go and convert into a bigger one. This is something I wish to do during the test series,” he added.

Babar accepted that England will have an advantage as they will play against Pakistan after competiting with the West Indies and have full confidence on the bowlers, who have been bowling well in the past two series.

“We are eagarly looking forward to play and focused on winning the series. They have the home advantage but our bowlers will give tough time to their fragille top-order. Mohammad Abbas has been playing here in counties and have experienced and Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah has full potential to shine. The expectations are high and I hope they will do well,” he maintained.

It must be noted that Pakistan arrived in England on Sunday. They are currenly training in Worcestershie and are alos in 14-day quarmtine period. They will take part in two inter-squad matches before traveling to Derbyshire.
