‘Players are in good shape, hopefully we will produce results’ Waqar Younis

Worcestershire: Pakistan’s bowling coach Waqar Younis looked impressed about the physical fitness of players despite coming to play in England after a gap of three months.

While talking from the Pakistan team training session, former great was concerned about the suffering which will be caused due to COVID-19 on cricket.

“We were in touch with players during the lockdown period as we could guide them about how to keep them fit. All looked in great shape and I am hopeful that we will produce good results on the tour,” he said.

“Not just Cricket, almost every sport has suffered due to virus. Return of cricket is a great sign for the entire cricketing fraternity,” he added.

Waqar agreed that it will take time to change the previous habits and get used to new playing conditions. “All our life, we are used to shining the ball will saliva, now we have to change ourselves but it will take some time.

He also said that the International Cricket Council (ICC) would have to come up with an alternative option to shine the ball.

It must be noted here that Pakistan will play three Tests and as many T20Is against England in August and September.
