Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis arrested for killing a man in fatal car crash

Karachi: Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Mendis was arrested on Sunday after being allegedly involved in a fatal crash with a 64- year old cyclist who passed away instantly, just outside the Colombo.

Police said that the 25-year-old batsman was driving an SUV at Panadura before dawn when the incident happened. Mendis’s SUV has also been taken into police custody.

He has represented Sri Lanka in 44 Tests, 76 ODIs and 26 T20Is. He was part of the Sri Lankan squad that underwent a training camp in Pallekele earlier in the week.
